At Number 8 – BloodRayne

Take a bad ass character like Blade (such an awesome first film too) and imagine he had a female side kick. The result would be BloodRayne, a butt kicking female, half vampire and half human…yes we’ve all heard that before, but Terminal Reality (published by THQ) gave this heroine a very steamy sex appeal to players.

You’ll play as this sexy latex clad babe and do your best to rid the earth of a vampire apocalypse (you all saw that coming). BloodRayne is pretty handy with her blades, carrying out devastating combinations, with some gruesome skewer and lift moves, which would make Mortal Kombat’s Barakka, proud.
As you may have noticed, BloodRayne likes her sexy and tight latex clothing. You’ll play as BloodRayne, in her trademark latex top and pants, but you’ll also see this kick ass babe in a long wet-look dress. Both are pretty sexy and well…give you something to look at throughout the game.
Although BloodRayne had the badass look, the blades and the guns (we’ll get to them later), there was one particular move that gave BloodRayne the sexy edge. It was the leg wrapping blood suck. Yup…wanna see…here’s the move concept art:

One other trick that BloodRayne has, is the ability to turn the blood she takes from her victims…and turn it into ammo for her trusty side arms. Yup…this badass babe can simply top up her gun rounds, using blood. Handy eh?

BloodRayne is true to it’s adult theme, with gruesome attacks and seriously sexy moves. We’d love to see BloodRayne 3, but as long as issues such as stiff animation and clipping are polished out. BloodRayne isn’t exactly a hard game either, so difficulty should definitely be increased, maybe not to the standard of Devil May Cry 3, but somewhere in between the two games.

BloodRayne doesn’t really suffer from serious issues. It’s just minor polishing that needs to be addressed. If THQ or Terminal Reality, took this into consideration, BloodRayne would be an even greater game to play. Of course, if you want to really push the sales…consider the following too:
MAKE IT SEXIER:
BloodRayne has the fundamentals of a truly badass and sexy game. It has the babe, the sexy tight clothing and some seriously sexy moves. So it’s simply tweaking these and adding a few more here and there, which will really make a difference. We suggest:
- Adding more ‘lady physics’ to BloodRayne, this will create a much more realistic take on the character and add to her sexy moves and costumes
- Experimenting with BloodRayne’s sexy feeding. As well as the ‘leg wrap and neck suck’ (which should always stay, as we love it), try adding more sexy varieties, such as an upper thigh – leg feed, to women with short skirts (scientifically, blood flow is faster around that area…oh yes). This could be executed while the victim is on the ground, or standing (or both). Also consider other body parts and make female feeds different to male ones, depending on circumstance, position or the victims costume/outfit.
- BloodRayne knows how to turn her players on. She’s already taken a liking to tight latex, but there is so much more you can do with her costumes. Again, you can stay faithful to her dark style and keep to latex and leather designs. There are many latex or leather (or a combination of) corsets, teddies, bustiers or open shirt combinations that can be experimented with. This could be unlocked or implemented into the story throughout.
BloodRayne did offer unlock-able costumes after completion of the game. But there was only one that stood out…the schoolgirl. While it was totally different to her style, it did have a dark and sexy appearance, that matched BloodRaynes. Keep it, but remember the latex and leather style she’s faithful too and experiment with sexy combinations.

The thing that frustrates us the most, is how some developers can shy away from the sex appeal too much. It’s understandable if your game is a beat ‘em up, where half your audience is fairly young and your game is rated as a teen. The most you can offer is light hearted costumes, that don’t reveal too much. But…if your games like BloodRayne, you really already have the license for adult content and these are such games where it would be appreciated and help sell.
Lets hope we see BloodRayne again soon, in all her sexy glory.
At Number 7 – Dead Rising
Dead Rising
To us, one of the finest survival horror games ever made. Not only did Capcom enable up to 500 zombies on screen at once, but they enabled the player to use a HUGE number of weapons around a massive shopping mall. Everything from store tills, to golf clubs could be used to smash zombie heads and it was the only survival horror game, to make the player think of guns as ’second best’. The sheer amount of effort that Capcom put into Dead Rising, has really raised the bar for survival horror games.

The main character (Frank) tries to be the first on scene, of a ‘must have’ story. Unfortunately this story consists of rotten ex-shoppers, in search of flesh and brains (and not necessarily in that order). When Frank realises he’s trapped with these zombies, in a shopping mall for 72 hours, unlike most people (who would attempt to get the hell out by any means), Frank takes this opportunity to report on and photograph EVERYTHING!
Shooting zombies in the face is great. Smashing them over the head with a golf club is cool, slicing them all apart with a katana is awesome, but breaking zombie bones with wrestling moves that Hulk Hogan would be proud of…is just sweet! BUT…too much work in a day, requires a little relaxation…and what better way to relax, then to take photos of hot babes that you meet, hot zombie babes (a sexy Dvina McCall in ‘Dead Set’ springs to mind…but…er…anyway…) and any sexy posters you find along the way.
Yes, Dead Rising has an on going mini game throughout, where you can take photos of violent, romantic and gruesome shots…and be rewarded with points in return, which you can then spend on special, awesome, uber ninja/wrestling style moves. Our favourite however…is the erotic shot. Here is how it works:

Taking photos of sexy ladies, earns you points. You get points depending on the pose of the sexy lady, along with any exposed breasts, legs or even up-skirt angles you shoot. Yes, we know…it’s awesome! Zombies and hot women…it’s just…it’s just amazing!

MAKE IT SEXIER
Dead Rising is an awesome game. We can’t fault the actual gameplay in anyway. While many gamers thought it’s limited saving was far too harsh, we personally thought it made the game more realistic and made the feeling of actually surviving the 72 hour period, much more real. Dead Rising has some hot moments throughout and they’re all made possible because of your trusty camera. This is what we think a sequel should implement:
- Main female characters throughout the game, should give the player much more chances to take raunchier photos. The occasional quiet moments, when sitting in the office is good, but we want more. There are plenty of pens that can be ‘accidentally dropped’ and then picked up. Or we could accidentally catch one of these ladies changing, or point out that their skirt is ridding up (after taking a photo before hand of course). There are soooo many possibilities with these scenarios, and we hope to see some more imagination with the erotica shots.
- Sexy zombies occasionally occur, but we want more. What if some ladies were changing their clothes in a store changing room, when suddenly the outbreak hit? What if two ladies got into a cat fight before the outbreak hit, or better still, two uninfected ladies, got into a cat-fight and we just happen to have our camera ready? We’re pretty good at coming up with ideas…but don’t worry, we don’t want payment, royalties or rewards…we just want them implemented into the games (and all you developers now have that in writing).
- Costumes! Yes all of you were waiting for it, but it’s such an easy way to add sexy content to a game. What if I could play through the game again and all main female characters, were wearing something else…really sexy, but that I selected? What if I unlocked an option to play Dead Rising, when the outbreak hit on Halloween…and every lady would be in costume? All of this would not only be great on the eye, but it would be fantastic for the photo mini games.
Dead Rising is a master piece of survival horror gaming. It also treats us gamers to some sexy mini games too. We’re aware that Dead Rising 2 is in development and the fact that there has been no word whatsoever, of a camera mini game…haunts us. But what if you could pick up a camera in a store….specifically for mini games? All we ask is that the above ideas are taken into consideration. Oh…and more batteries scattered here and there for our camera please. If it can’t be done in Dead Rising 2…what about Dead Rising 3?

At Number 6 – Dead or Alive

Dead or Alive was the very first beat ‘em up game, to ever have us frantically beating AI bosses, all for the sake of some extra player clothing. This gorgeous beat ‘em up was and still is, an incredibly strong fighting game, with a challenging list of moves, good variety of players and graphics that get more gorgeous with every sequel.

Dead or Alive also introduced interactive stages, but Team Ninja were also focusing on something else, to go with their gorgeous visuals. Something that would propel the Dead or Alive series to new levels - Copyright Tecmo
Team Ninja were probably the first to introduce ‘realistic lady physics’ to a game. Dead or Alive 2 offered gorgeous female fighters, who not only had their curves in all the right places, but ‘bounced’ realistically too. While this had been attempted in 2D beat ‘em ups (such as King of Fighters), Team Ninja had captured the ‘lady bounce’ so well and realistically, it landed immediate and heavy media attention. Soon Dead or Alive 2 was known more for it’s ‘lady physics’ than it’s actual gameplay. Both were great though, so Team Ninja and Tecmo simply sat back and enjoyed the exposure.

Team Ninja had developed some very sexy female characters. The most popular, probably being Kasumi. With attractive females and realistic physics, giving these lovely ladies extra costumes, to be unlocked upon game completion…was genius!

Once you had completed Dead or Alive with all main characters, you finally had a reason to play some more. For every lovely lady you completed the game with, you would unlock a special costume for them to wear. Playing the game through again with that new costume, would unlock more. Games such as Dead or Alive: Ultimate, offered a very generous amount of female costumes, all pretty exposing…and an absolute joy to bounce around and fight in.
These great costumes, ranged from different colours of their existing fighting costumes, to sexy bunny outfits. To be honset, we never even really bothered completing the game with every main character, just a few we liked and all the ladies (for the costumes of course).

MAKE IT SEXIER
Dead or Alive is a superb fighting game, with some seriously sexy female fighters and physics to match. Costumes and outfits are the only thing that Dead or Alive can really build on and it’s also very lucky that the recent Dead or Alive 4, has been pushed up to an ‘M for Mature’ rating. This gives Team Ninja the license to play with some sexy creations and get us all playing through with the ladies once again.
Dead or Alive: Ultimate offered quite a large list of costumes, but the recent Dead or Alive 4 was fairly disappointing in comparison, as once you unlocked the characters multicoloured default costumes, there were very few original and sexy costume unlocks.
Dead or Alive 5, must offer much more original and classic sexy costumes, that don’t just include different coloured versions of default costumes. Team Ninja have the ‘M for Mature Rating’ now, so bring on the maids, nurses, catsuits, cops, waitress, air hostess and other classic Halloween party costumes. Bring on sexy leather and latex outfits and put those big bouncy breasts (you’ve all worked so hard to perfectly emulate) to good use!
We don’t want to hear ‘but we think our players focus on the actual gameplay more’, yes that’s true, but I don’t think anyone actually played Dead or Alive and never went after at least one Kasumi or Tina costume unlock…did they? Get those sexy costumes stacked high in the next game (maybe 15-20 for each female) and please don’t even think about charging for them on marketplace (unless they’re still available for free within the actual game, via unlock).
